Coming Up…

You’d might as well put a stamp on the post-game stuff, because I mailed it in.  I don’t really think the focus was on what happened in the game so much as what’s happened this season, and I asked Trenton head coach Kevin Dean a few questions about that after tonight’s loss.

I’ll have that for you in the next few days, as well as a “thank you” post far more formal than the stupid video you saw earlier today.  The Olli-Stache, by the way, is currently circling the drain.  In that sense, the similarities to it and Trenton’s first 50 games or so this season are somewhat striking.

I’ll likely have a look at the team’s season-long struggles as well…might even dig up a few bright spots as well.  Truth be told, there certainly were some.  But I’d hate to ruin my rep of being negative all the time.

In the meantime, talk amongst yourselves in the comments…and thanks for reading all season.

Great job as usual Mike. Stoked that you’re covering the Steel too, I get the feeling you’re going to get some company in the penalty box before that season’s over though, so heads up!

Same here Mike always appreciate your efforts and willingness to ask the difficult questions. I also agree there are much bigger and better things in your future and you deserve every bit of it. Thakful to have you covering the steel as well. We’re looking forward to Sunday, hopefully the girls like it so I don’t go it alone every game.

They gave away a lot of great stuff tonight with a heavy tie into the big club which I think if they were to do more of would fill a few seats. I hope against all odds that next year is different.

Have to say the Parise jersey is pretty cool even if the colors aren’t red, white and blue. We really appreciated the gesture by the front office in Trenton. As I’ve said before I think they do a great job with what they’re given to work with. So thank you to Jim, Kristen, Megan, Ed and Dan for all your efforts too this season.

They seriously have to step up the freebies and not flags or bam bam sticks.

up 4-1 in Reading, Greenville winning as well so with luck Reading will be denied home ice through the conference.

ok we can all relax “winning the Kelly cup is it the top of our list” and we want our fans to come to the rink knowing that.

  6. Shtikl Says:

Hey, t04, you know every *player* dreams of winning a championship. It’s always THEIR goal, regardless of whether the Dweebles’ mismanagement has a chance of putting together a team that can realize that dream.

So you fans can bank on it: the players are as disappointed as you are, that they didn’t make it again this year. The shame of the Dweebles’ dysfunctional disorganization is, the players probably know that when they sign their contracts in Trenton, rather than getting a phone call from an organization that has a chance.

Great team, those New Jersey Devils. Out of the money on all three fronts. The big club’s in rags, and there are precious few serious prospects in the pipeline. Wonder where they’ll all be this time next year?

    Thanks, Ash, for the blog!

Heard a rumor – Albany Devils to Trenton and T-Devils to A.C. Both Trenton and Albany have the worst attendance records in their respective leagues (NJ Devils are 27th out of 30). Can anyone say “marketing?”

  9. Section 106, Row F Says:

Bob, that rumor’s been flying since the all-stars beak at mid-season. AC has little to no interest in hosting hockey again. The Bullies had one good season there, and the AHL and ECHL Dev’s turnouts this year speak for themselves – the Boardwalk just isn’t a winter sports venue…never has been, never will be.

If the T-Dev’s can afford rent at the SNB Arena, they’ll stay. But that’s a pretty big “if”. Season Ticket sales have fallen yet again, and I’m thinking I might just cut my attendance (again) to 12 games for next year. I see better, more competitive hockey at the University, ProSkate and IceLand…but the hot dogs aren’t as good (or as expensive).

Kerwin, thanks again for your stellar attitude this year. Even with the team in the dumps, it was always good to see your smile and hear your jokes.

    Have a great summer, all….
