Is this the start of the going-out-of-business sale?

  2. Ashmore Says:

Miller and Pender to IR. Gershon listed on roster on team website? Was led to believe he was returned to Wheeling…

  3. Titans04 Says:

Pender was on the 3 day hasn’t played in a while, Miller hurt last night. Website – meaningless.

  4. trentondevilsfan Says:

At least Future can’t fail a physical

  5. Titans04 Says:

Shtikl odds are it’s just more blatant indifference to what they roll out on the ice.

  6. Langhorne Devil Says:

who the hell is going to be left to play tomorrow?

Looks like Chris and Lou will be getting very drunk at the owners meetings with all these rounds of drinks they have acquired (i mean future considerations)

  7. trentondevilsfan Says:

What’s the minimum roster they can ice? Seems like they’re going for it.

Worst part is it’s pointless and not fair to harp on the coach, the remaining players or the Trenton FO as none of this is their fault.

Remember this response back in Oct:

MA: I think the last thing I have for you is from more of an off-ice side of things, but I’m not doing my job if I don’t ask…it’s really no secret that it’s been difficult trying to fill the seats here the past couple of seasons. What are you guys doing to try to turn that around and has it been frustrating to see that from your perspective?

CL: “I think the biggest thing for me — and some of these questions, I won’t be able to answer because my responsibilities are more with the hockey — but for us, the best thing we can do is put the best team in the ice that we can. I think the players don’t think about — I certainly don’t think about — the people that are not here. We think about the people that are here, and that’s our focus. We think we have great fans in Trenton. We think they’re a fan that’s been accustomed to great hockey. They were fortunate to see a championship, and we expect to give them another championship at some point. That’s our goal starting Saturday night, to get off on the right foot. Again, we think these are fans that, in our opinion, are great fans at this level and this league. We worry about the people that are here and hopefully do as well as we can on the ice and give them something to cheer about each and every night.”

it is disgraceful to treat those of us who pay for this. if they want to treat it this way, make it free and just live off concessions.

  10. Langhorne Devil Says:

i remember a few years ago, a soccer team in the uk staggered their admission costs as to how well they were doing.. maybe they should implement it here. 11th in conference = $2 10th in conf = 4$ etc…

  11. chiarams Says:

So is this it for the weekend? 13 skaters, a goalie, and an EBUG?

    G – Caruso, Felice
D – Thomas, Nolet, Miller, Leaderer, Southorn
F – Ginand, Kell, Charleston, Zancanaro, Nagy, Vokes, Stoesz, Potacco

I tried emailing Chris Lam but bounced back.

  12. chiarams Says:

Sorry – scratch that, I realized Miller is out. So 12 skaters, a goalie, and an EBUG:

    G – Caruso, Felice
D – Thomas, Nolet, Leaderer, Southorn
F – Ginand, Kell, Charleston, Zancanaro, Nagy, Vokes, Stoesz, Potacco

I also tried – same problem.

  13. northjerseyfan Says:

According to the AHL Transactions, Caruso is back in Albany and Lerg is with us tonight.

  14. trentondevilsfan Says:

The only emails I can come up with at this point are profanity ridden so I shall not post them…. might be an option though

  15. trentondevilsfan Says:

“I think the players don’t think about — I certainly don’t think about — the people that are not here.”

Leave aside for the moment how much they care or don’t care about the people that are there.

When attendance is in the toilet and they say they don’t care about empty seats – the people that aren’t there – it really tells you all you need to know.

Seriously….if you’re averaging 5k you can get away with thinking that (though maybe saying it is still not wise). If you’re pulling around 1200 there comes a point where you simply have to care about it, if only because other people (the county, the arena) are going to care about it. At some point they’re not going to want to give up prime dates to some stupid hockey team that no one comes to see. At some point the quality people they have working for them are going to get sick of the apathy and go somewhere else and other quality people are going to pass on the “opportunity” to work here, or at best stick around a year to build the resume and then move on.

  16. chiarams Says:

Not to mention that any quality players will never want to come play here in front of hundreds of fans growing more bitterer by the day – not at the players themselves (for the most part) but at the constant lines of bullshit fed by a largely invisible organization that has blatantly stated they don’t care about winning, they don’t care about filling empty seats, and they don’t care about providing a remotely entertaining product for the fans that do show up.

It is a comedy of error and ineptitude that continues to baffle the mind. I don’t profess to have any solution to the problems the brass continues to ignore, but for the love of all things holy, do your freaking job with some level of aptitude.

  17. trentondevilsfan Says:

That’s ok, they don’t seem to be looking for solutions to the problems. These problems existed when they came here; they’ve just rubbed salt into them to make them worse.

They were eminently solvable when they came into town, new blood, fresh faces, a revitalized approach and all that. They still would’ve had the hit caused by fleeing Flyers fans, but pushing the team in places like New Brunswick and other locales with a Devils fanbase would have at least partially offset it. And you’d have Devils fans already not going to Newark coming down Rte 1 and putting money into the collective Devils organization.

Instead they focus what marketing there is deeper into Flyers country. I don’t freaking understand it. And you’re right, it’s even harder because directing the bile at the players, coach or Trenton office staff is unfair and not where the fault lies.

Although if the Swingin’ Midget lets the first shot in again tonite it’s not gonna be pretty in 114 I can tell ya that….

  18. Langhorne Devil Says:

But what can we do as “fans”.

We all unload on here – does anyone from the team read this? (probably) do they act upon it (maybe?) does anything actually happen (no).

So if none of us renew our st’s. Will they care? (probably not).

Even though they don’t care – I can see them maybe moving the team and destroying another market. I would say more likely we will see a wheeling type behavior and have some here, and some in AC.

We really have no choice. “like it or f@&$ off as we have taken to saying”
