Game 35: Pre-Game Notes

7:00 PM — Matt Lombardi in for Hayes…

6:35 PM — Ryan Hayes is nowhere to be found.  Interesting choice to send a message to your second leading scorer.

Joe Palmer between the pipes for Toledo…Shane Connelly for Trenton.  It’s a Trentonian game, kids…talk amongst yourselves.

4:00 PM — Making Darcy Zajac proud…

3:30 PM — It’s about three and a half hours before game time, and I’m coming at you live from Swagger Wagon Arena here in lovely and scenic Trenton, New Jersey.  All jokes aside, there is some news to report.

Martin Nolet has been activated from the 21-Day IR, and will likely play tonight.  Nolet has not played since November 28th after suffering an undisclosed injury.

Brad Miller has been placed on the 3-Day IR, and Justin Coutu has been transferred from the 3-Day to the 7-Day IR.  Coutu, if you recall, was said to be day-to-day by Devils head coach Kevin Dean yesterday.  He’ll likely be available for the Wheeling weekend.

3:15 PM — Here’s a little look behind the scenes…be sure to adjust the video up to 720p so you can see it in HD as it was intended.

How much did Coke pay you for that product placement? 😛

  2. tdevils Says:

Ha. It’s just what was laying around. I’d show y’all the fridge in the main press area, but I don’t think anyone really needs to go thaaaaaat behind the scenes.

  3. Langhorne Devil Says:

    bored were you mike??

  4. titans04 Says:

How cool looks like were going to be honored with another game of 27 doing his thing. If anybody back there needs to take a seat it’s him. 2 years and counting. B. Miller while weak in our zone at least brings something on the PP.

  5. tdevils Says:

Bored, yes. I get to catch up on other work by getting here this early, but there’s absolutely nothing to do otherwise. And shoot, if someone gets a kick out of what my spot in the press box is like…go nuts.

And I’m not sure if Miller is injured or “injured.” I suspect the latter.

  6. titans04 Says:

I keep forgetting who the prospect is in CL and the orgs eyes.

  7. trentondevilsfan Says:

Too bad Pender can’t get “injured”. He’s just brutal.

    Nice vid Mike.

  8. trentondevilsfan Says:

    Wow. People. Weird

  9. Shtikl Says:

“Wow. People. Weird.” — trentondevilsfan, are there people in the seats now that the game is on? Or is it just Ash, as usual? — titans04, what makes you think any of the T-Devils is a “prospect” in anybody’s eyes? I thought Trenton was always intended by the Dweebles organization to be LIMBO, where players wait to see if there’s any chance of them ever making a real pro team, and where more often than not they go the other way…

  10. titans04 Says:

Hayes was a the easy choice. Wait until Ginand sits next or gets dealt at some point.

Doesn’t make sense to me but my magic 8 ball came up with Hayes 5 times in a row last night after Kevin mentioned lineup changes.

Can’t think rationally about this stuff.

  11. titans04 Says:

Notice all the grenade whistles going off when 26 touches the puck.

  12. tdevils Says:

Totally deflated by that first goal. Solid first five minutes, and they haven’t looked right since.

  13. titans04 Says:

    More crap.

  14. titans04 Says:

    Looks like Kell is done.

  15. titans04 Says:

Let’s be honest you can’t stop a team like Toledo that got beat 8-2 last night you can only hope to contain them.

On a side note maybe Connelley could go to his knees even sooner next time.

  17. titans04 Says:

Ok he can gtfo at this point.

  18. titans04 Says:

Brilliant move at the horn. Wtf was he thinking.

  19. titans04 Says:

Miller looked hurt and maybe prough too.

  20. trentondevilsfan Says:

Dan Charleston is a (^*$(#)% idiot. Looked like someone got hurt with that nice slapshot into the home crowd. Way to ruin a 4 goal night brainiac.

    Just f’ing brilliant.

And please find a goalie. Any goalie. This guy’s horrible.

For me, the whole excitement of the end was totally drained away by Charleston’s moronic move. Complete idiot.

  21. Steve Says:

Charleston Chew is still the best, people make mistakes forgive and forget!
