Good News, Bad News…

There’s good news, there’s bad news, and then there’s some “depends on how you look at it” news.  Let’s start with that first.

The next two teams that the Devils will play, the Jackals and the Everblades, have lost one of their goalies.  Elmira’s Daren Machesney was signed to a PTO by the AHL’s Binghamton Senators, while Florida’s Jaroslav Janus (pictured) was called up to AHL Norfolk to take the place of Cedrick Desjardins, who was called up to Tampa Bay after Mike Smith injured his knee.

Florida has added occasional Royals EBUG Shane Davis in the short-term, while the Jackals have yet to make a move to get someone behind Marco Cousineau.

The bad news?  I’m typing this from home.  I should just be leaving Buffalo after a great full of day of hockey that culminated with a USA stomping of Slovakia.  Instead, thanks to the blizzard and the effects it had on travel everywhere, I’m home.  After debating jumping off of the “Trenton Makes, The World Takes Bridge,” I’ll push forward and cover the game tomorrow.

The good news, however, is that I invested some of my Christmas gift cards into a mini-camcorder so I can provide some video interviews on my various blogs.  I noticed it’s becoming more and more common for NHL beat writers to provide that after games to their readers, and I wanted to do it as well.  So, hopefully starting tomorrow, I’ll have that for you.

I’ll see you all tomorrow, when Trenton hosts Elmira at 7 PM at the Sun National Bank Center.  Be sure to check back for any updates up until game time, and then after the game…where hopefully the new video content will debut.
