6:50 PM — Tyler Donati WILL NOT play tonight. Official rosters are…
6:40 PM — Some quick photos…
6:35 PM — Tony Zancanaro is, at the very least, taking the pre-game skate. The goalies are Dave Caruso and Daren Machesney. Enjoy the game, kids.
5:30 PM — One Donati plays tonight, one does not. Tyler Donati was activated off of IR today, Justin Donati was placed on it.
5:15 PM — An hour and 45 minutes before game time and there’s still a high school practice going on. Bet that’s just great for an already so-so ice surface.
4:20 PM — For what it’s worth, Reading and Providence swapped goalies…Matt Dalton’s up in the AHL, Michael Hutchinson’s now in the ECHL.
3:45 PM — Some news of varying levels of interest before tonight’s 7 PM game in Elmira.
For starters, here’s my latest ECHL.com piece on former Charlotte Checkers, Columbia Inferno and Florida Everblades enforcer Eric Boulton. Boulton, of course, is now in his ninth NHL season as a member of the Atlanta Thrashers.
Elmira’s made some moves, straight from their PR: The Elmira Jackals announced Wednesday that left wing Brian Lebler has been assigned to the team by their AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, and that goaltender Daren Machesney has been returned to the club from his loan to the Jackals’ AHL affiliate, the Binghamton Senators. Additionally, defenseman Marc-Antoine Desnoyers has departed the team to attend college in Canada.
And the league has announced the starters for the 2011 ECHL All-Star Game…
PRINCETON, N.J. – The ECHL on Wednesday announced the starting lineup for the ECHL All-Stars for the 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic presented by CCM. The rest of the ECHL All-Star Team will be announced tomorrow.
The 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic presented by CCM will be hosted by the Bakersfield Condors at Rabobank Arena and played on Jan. 26, 2011. This year’s format features the host team taking on a team of ECHL All-Stars.
There have been 52 players from the All-Star Game who have gone on to play in the National Hockey League, including 36 since 2002 when the lineups began having players who coaches felt were prospects to move up to a higher level.
