Ex-Devil Wilson Signs With Wheeling

Former Princeton Tigers standout Brett Wilson has signed with the Wheeling Nailers.

Wilson, who spent most of his first pro season with Trenton in 2009-10, was released late in the season in somewhat of a curious move given that his 13-24-37 line in 57 games was one of the better ones on the squad at the time.

The forward was claimed on waivers by the hapless Johnstown Chiefs — remember them? — towards the end of the season, but ultimately did not report.

Wheeling makes their first trip into the Sun National Bank Center on January 12, 2011.  However, Trenton will play the Nailers on the road — both in West Virginia and in Johnstown — four times before that, starting with the third game of the season in Pennsylvania on October 23.

  1. Bob Smyth Says:

Letting Wilson go was one of the most foolish actions the the organization has made. His skill, inteligence, and creativity will most likely not be found again.
