Trenton Devils To Play Game In Atlantic City

The New Jersey Devils will hold a press conference on Tuesday to announce that the Albany Devils and Trenton Devils will combine to play a total of five games in Atlantic City.  Albany will play four games and Trenton one.

The Devils were kind enough to call and invite me to attend the conference, but I will be unable to attend due to prior commitments related to covering the Trenton Thunder.

I would have to imagine that the T-Devils opponent would either be Reading or Elmira given the amount of times they play them and their proximity to the location.  Wheeling would also be an option.  There is no immediate word on a possible date for the game, but I will pass along the news when I obtain it.

I bet they are going to play Wheeling and Albany will play the Phantoms. Both Philly connected.

Curious as to which home game we’re going to lose. Chances of going to AC aren’t great depending on the night.

I can already imagine the throngs of former Bullies fans are aflutter with this news.

I still say this does nothing more than alienate fans in Trenton and Albany, all at the expense of the perceived masses of Devils fans that will travel to AC to watch prospects play.

Ah, will AC be tacking on a ticket surcharge, like Trenton is threatening to do?

If a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound?

I can’t believe all the negativity, this is shear marketing brilliance. There’s no better time to paint another town red, look at how they turned things around in Trenton and Lowell.

Just more ignorance/arrogance at the top where they believe all they have to do is rollout the logo and the masses will follow. AC has proven without a doubt they don’t give a sh*t about hockey even when it’s tied to the Flyers.

Might as well just take 4 games away from Albany right off the bat just to set the tone for the relationship and what they’re in for going forward.

Wheeling is no longer affiliated with Wheeling. They went with Greenville along with the Rags.
