The Trenton Devils have released their second player this week, this time letting go defenseman Luke Lucyk.
Lucyk, 23 years old, joined the T-Devils after making his pro debut with the Charlotte Checkers at the end of the 2008-09 season following a collegiate career at Notre Dame. Solid, but hardly spectacular, Lucyk had no goals and one assist in 19 games with Trenton, but did manage an even plus/minus rating.
Also, Ryan Ginand has been activated from the IR, as has Jeff Lerg. Given the T-Devils dwindling playoff hopes, Lerg is likely to make his much-anticipated professional debut shortly.
Additionally, backup goaltender Mike Maday has been released after backing up Dave Caruso during yesterday’s 6-4 loss in Gwinnett. No word as of yet on the status of Gerald Coleman, who apparently was unable to backup.
The T-Devils return home on Wednesday, hosting the Johnstown Chiefs for the final time in franchise history at 7 PM.
