Wilson Released; Murray Returned From Lowell

There’s plenty of stuff to get caught up on over the past few days, so let’s get right to it.

First off, the Trenton Devils have released Brett Wilson.  The move was somewhat surprising, as the former Princeton Tiger was the fourth leading scorer on the team with 37 points (13-24-37) in 57 games.  I’d have to think there’s something more to it than what meets the eye, but the team’s on the road and if you know anything about the Devils, you know the team isn’t going to release a single word on the matter.

The team has also received defenseman Chris Murray back from Lowell.  In 18 games with the L-Devils, he has a goal and an assist.  I personally didn’t feel Murray was playing at his best prior to the call-up, so I wonder what affect this AHL trip will have on his game.  It energizes some guys, while others take a while to get over the letdown of returning.

Jeremy Akeson will be playing in Trenton’s critical three-game road trip as well, having been activated off the IR.  Justin Pender will not be, as he was placed on the 7-Day IR.

    Oh, man, what the…..heck.

Just goes to show you how messed up this organization is. Wilson was one of the few players who knew how to set up a play. What a shame! T-Devils’ loss.

Way way too much whining by Dan and apparently Rick about the officiating, the game was decided by the referee, here’s a news flash they’ve taken a shi*load of untimely and often times dumb penalties all season long. Look how high the pims are for a team that doesn’t fight. We blew a long 5-3 and Charlotte made theirs look easy a few minutes later, ball game over. Lost to a team playing shorthanded that was playing their third in 3 days coming back from Elmira/Reading. They came up small in a big game with Reading and Toledo winning theirs at this point. So much for all the rest doing them good, not a good effort when they can hardly afford it as a result of stinking up the ice for the first 3 months.

Could have used Brett Wilson’s scoring touch, eh?

Dan asked Rick during the pre-game about roster moves, Cormier is around for toughness, they choose to keep 8 D instead of 7 so therefore had to cut a forward. Ginand is apprently healthy now and can play at any time, no explaination other that tough call but Wilson wasn’t going to be in the mix. Still a brutal move in my opinion. # 22 nowhere to be found on the ice again tonight, took a puck to the ribs was the only time I heard his name called he didn’t miss a shift. I take back what I said before they played a decent game but did themselves in with bad penalties, they gave up 2 ppgs and another 2 seconds after one expired.

Funny you mentioned needing Wilson one thing Dan said numerous times was that the Devils have the worst pp in the league, so no need for a playmaker like Wilson I guess.

I’m just glad to hear somebody picked him right up and put him to work. Nothing quite like a layoff to completely destroy corporate morale, eh?

  7. Off-Ice21 Says:

    This organization is a joke.

  8. Trenton Hockey Fan Says:

Roper <<<<< Dan… Erie is lucky to have him.

Why does Wilson get cut when Pender stays? Chris Lamoriello has about as much hockey sense as Michael Jordan… which I'm sure is none… and I'm sure Jordan knows more about hockey.
