Leblond Bobbleheads Tonight

I collect bobbleheads.  I admit it.  I have a few shelves full of bobbleheads of guys I’ve covered throughout my career.  For me, it’s a fun way to remember some of the guys I got to interact with on a day-to-day basis who ultimately went on to bigger and better things.

Anyway, the Trenton Devils will be handing out Pierre-Luc Letorneau-Leblond bobbleheads to the first 2,000 fans tonight at the game against the Kalamazoo Wings.  No word on if they were able to fit his whole name on the base.

So go to the game, watch the T-Devils try to sneak into the playoffs, and come home with a bobblehead, courtesy of the fine folks at the NJEA.  Good times.

And, while you’re here, be sure to check out Rob Chakler’s game story in The Trentonian.

The weather is going to kill them. It’s supposed to do this all day and night, and it’s just nasty out there.

  2. Shtikl Says:

    The kazoos do a nice pre-game write-up:

Gotta wait and see what happens with the weather here. Transformer on the pole across the street has been moaning, loudly. Ugh.

Am sat in carpark wondering if I fancy getting out of the car!

  5. Titans04 Says:

WTF are the wings wearing. I’ll have a number 3 large size ketchup only.

  6. LanghorneDevil Says:

You beat me to it titans04!! As per our lowell correspondant murray has gone north – lucyk in to replace.

  7. Trentondevilsfan Says:

Ditto on the sweaters, WTH? I wouldn’t want my name on the back of those either(transformer calmed down as did the dog so we made the swim here)

  8. LanghorneDevil Says:

Well noone expected that singing voice did they 😮

  9. Titans04 Says:

Well what a great first 15 minutes Poli with the beautiful shot on the first goal and then a gift from Nie on the second. Tryig to clear the puck himself and then totally misplaying a shot that Prough fanned on that barely had enough steam on it to cross the line.

Last 5 mins were a diferent story and Tomko first gets caught up ice then got away with a hook trying to get back into the play only to do something stupid behind the goal. Wings cash in within the first few seconds. Perhaps even dumber was Combs burying Llyod basically off the next faceoff. They were lucky to get out of the period with the lead.

  10. LanghorneDevil Says:

All that is frustrating about the devils.

After the first 15mins I was all set to say amazing stuff – completely the opposite of the first period in the toledo games. Lovely flowing hockey by both teams and officials letting it flow.

Then it falls apart. Couldn’t really see the tomko incident from where I am. But I am going to guess it was something stupid. We concede and then it goes back to being the standard of the early part of the toledo games.

Kzoo certainly don’t look like the team that is on a 9-0-1-1 run.

  11. Titans04 Says:

Atta boy # 7 doesn’t get any dumber than that.

  12. LanghorneDevil Says:

Stupid timing of line changes and stupid dumbass penalties

  13. Titans04 Says:

Eves gts one for Trenton as Nie again fails to cover the puck. Nut the period is all Wings and at points looks like a shooting gallery. Wings ti it after Coutu’s needless and way way late gloved punch.

Luckily near the end a Kunes prayer is answered and we’re more than lucky to be up by a goal heading into the third.

  14. Trentondevilsfan Says:

No way this ends up 4-3. Fun game though!

Glad youse had fun, glad the TDs won! Evening’s not a total loss, even if you do need a boat to get home. How are the bobbleheads? Hideous, eh?

    How was the crowd?

The Lowly ‘Evils had a bad night, lost 2-6. Cohen was the most consistent D at even, Murray was -2, Taormina and Murphy were -3, and Flynn was playing PK. Vasyunov got head-hunted at the end of the 1st, had to be helped off the ice and didn’t come back. The Lowlies have a game Tuesday up in Portland, so watch the Transactions in case Snets wasn’t a healthy scratch.

Nice to see the TDs win, brought a little joy to my evening.

Like the Frazee one, the sweater paintjob looks to be the work of a visually impaired individual. ‘Sok though 🙂

Shtikl I have extra Frazee and PLL boobleheads if you want one, Mike I have one for you if you didn’t get one.

Really nice win tonight and they came up huge winning all three at home this week against good teams, the Wings being a REAL good team and this point.

I thought the WIngs came out pretty flat without much jump at all which was a surprise I thought we were playing pretty well and then came a terrible penalty by Kucharski who just ripped a guys stick out of his hand and threw it – right in front of the referee. I thought Sullivan up until that point did a decent job but the worst was yet to come. The 4 minute major on Thomas was just brutal at the 12:00 min mark, not even a penalty and to give him 4 minutes just compunded it. At that point it seemed like we were in deep s*it especially when they scored again on that pp about a minute into it to tie it up with plenty of time still left on the penalty. Sullivan then made a questionable interference call to cancel the back half of the 4 minute major. Perhaps the worst call of the game was a phantom tripping call on the Wings at the 15:20 mark. Again it looked like we didn’t have much going on the PP but they came through as Poli made a diagonal pass across the crease that looked as if it was going to be that one pass too many and a Wings got a stick on it but it still trickled to Kunes whos soft wrister somehow found the net with a sh*tload of traffic on front Vokes again screening Nie perfectly but there had to be 3-4 other bodies in front as well. The shot came from right in front of us and how it got through we’ll never know but it did.

Congrats to Kunes who should now be more confident shooting the puck. Real nice game by Poli who got knocked around hard 2-3 times yet keep coming back. A real big effort by the T-Devils and hopefully they can take the momentum on the road.

I think I should be all right for a bobblehead, but I will let you know for sure.

I feel fine today, but my basement has been sucking in water since around 9:30 AM. We got around 5-6 inches of rain here, and mine floods when we get 2…so, uhhh…yeah, not a good day here. The thing that really sucks, for me anyway, is that I was supposed to do this game for The Trentonian. So I risk pissing them and lose a paycheck, in that order of importance. Also, I wanted to see Kalamazoo again, too.

Good win. Big win. I sent Rick a text to congratulate him on it…hard to believe Kunes tallied two. This actually happened? He shot the puck?

  19. Shtikl Says:

Sorry about the basement, wow! French drains are really expensive, too.

Why all the surprise about Kunes shooting? He had to score a few goals or he wouldn’t be in the E, right? It’s not like he’s channeling his inner Bobby Orr, eh?
