Weathering The Walleye

I was a bit under the weather today, so I stayed home…coincidentally, the inclement weather may keep me home tomorrow as well, it seems.

Doesn’t seem the Trenton Devils need me there, though.  A dramatic, come from behind victory against Toledo in overtime tonight, and they got another huge two points.  Trevor Kell scored 2:21 into overtime, his second goal of the game, to send the fans home happy.

Trenton hosts Kalamazoo tomorrow night in the final game of their brief three-game homestand.

The T-Devils came into the game three points back of eighth place Reading, two points behind Gwinnett and a point behind Wheeling.  Johnstown inexplicably crushed Reading, 7-2, and the Gladiators and Nailers are both idle.  So Trenton leapfrogs the Nailers and matches the Gladiators with 63 points, although Gwinnett has the tiebreaker with one more win.  To make a long story short, the Devils are a point out of eighth, and currently in tenth place in the conference.

Great job fighting to get the win! Reading lead that game 2-0 or 2-1 also, nice job there.

Is it me or does Toledo whine a lot?

  2. Shtikl Says:

Congratulations, Trevor Kell! WELCOME BACK! What a nice way to announce your return!

Well, youse missed an interesting game between the Lowlies and the Syracuse Crunch. I hope somebody posts the fight clips because Stoesz threw down with Mirasty. Wow. I’m just worried because Magnan was injured behind the play and didn’t come back, and Corrente and Eckford were out so Flynn actually had to play. Looked OK but he isn’t as confident or as snarly as Murray… um… Cross your fingers that Ecky or Pit Bull come back healthy tomorrow night, eh?

So it was a good evening for the boys, NJ won 3-1, Lowell won 3-1, and Trenton won 3-2 in OT.

    2 points! 2 points! 2 points!

And it’s not you, the Walleye take so many penalties, they’ve mastered the whine and jeez party.

Big two points and in the end that’s all that mattered. To us the first forty minutes were disturbing. How they could be so flat and play with no urgency is hard to figure out. Great pass by Tomko finally breaks through on the pp. Trevor was huge and Caruso as well. There were a couple guys we can usually count on that were invisible tonight. Hoperully they come out with some urgency tomorrow. Reading still has two hames in hand which is big with so few games left.

BTW, sorry to hear you’re not feeling well, Ash. Get well soon!

Got up from my pre-game nap, thought about whether I should go, and went right the hell back to sleep. I hate missing games, but I just wasn’t up for it. I’m feeling better, I’ll be back soon.

Get well soon Mike. Titans04 was spot on the first 40 were really poor. Howwever, at this stage it is the 2 points that count.

Reading v Toledo tonight. Looking at the run ins we may have a better chance of catchimg Toledo than reading.. so maybe a hope for a Reding win.

KZoo are on fire at the moment – anything from this game would be a bonus i feel

  8. LanghorneDevil Says:

on another note ECHL.com still has last nights game as unofficial final and as a result has not updated the table?

  9. Shtikl Says:

    It’s been updated to Official.

    Unfortunately, this also happened:

03/13/2010 Chris Murray (D) Lowell ADD Recalled from loan to Trenton (ECHL)

I am truly sorry about this. With Corrente and Eckford both out, and Magnan injured last night, I guess it was going to happen. I hope Killer can coax a good game out of the TDs tonight against kazoo.
