— First and very much so foremost, I may have to make some changes to the commenting system. Either that or, the person with the 205.235.XX.XX IP can stop. Either way. Pretty sure it’s a Royals fan, based on a little research of past comments. Stay classy!
— Two, Andy Thomas was called up to Lowell. Seems ridiculous given Justin Pender was suspended and Lowell has extra defensemen to begin with, but hey…I don’t run the show here. I can, however, crticize it when I see fit.
— Three, here is why Pender got suspended, straight from the league press release: The ECHL announced that Trenton defenseman Justin Pender has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #431 at Florida on Jan. 30.
Pender was assessed an aggressor game misconduct at 15:46 of the third period.
He is suspended under Rule 47.21 whereby any player deemed to be the instigator or aggressor of an altercation in the final five minutes of regulation time or at any time in overtime, shall automatically be suspended for one game.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players’ Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player’s Hardship Fund.
Pender will miss Trenton’s game against Johnstown on Feb. 3
