Big Win In Florida

After getting out a 2-0 lead in the second period, the Trenton Devils allowed one late goal, but managed to hang on for a 2-1 win over the Florida Everblades in the first game of their three-game set in Estero, Fla.

Rick Kowalsky dressed the exact same ten forwards and six defensemen as he did for the win over Johnstown…although it should be noted that Dave Caruso is now healthy enough to dress as the backup to Gerald Coleman, who made 29 saves and was the game’s second star.

The win gives the Devils 39 points on the season (15-19-4-5) and moves them to within five points of Elmira for the eighth and final playoff spot.  Stay tuned for the team’s press release…

Biggest win ever for this franchise in Florida.

    Okay, okay. Second biggest.

    No wait – third biggest.

    Actually, no – fourth biggest.

But that’s something, right? Fourth biggest out of four?

OK, did you watch it or listen to it? Fun game, D’Uva was so happy when Ginand and Zancanaro scored, and when Coleman made the glove save to rob the tying goal, you probably had to pull everybody else off the ceiling, he was that happy. Plus Brust made a *really* “classy” move shooting the puck at the celebrating T-Devils when Ginand scored…

Nice job, here’s hoping they keep it up. Would be great to see them come home on a bit of a hot streak

Did I listen? Don’t be silly.

Brust is a JO. He’s probably still bitter over Game 4 of the division finals in 2005.

Ah, so you flew down for the long weekend! 😉 How’s the deep sea fishing?

Heh – Making the trip to Estero once was enough for me.

Great arena, strange fans, lots of eye candy in the crowd.
