POLL: Which Alumni Feature Do You Want Next?

I’m also planning on — just as I was last year, but I’m actually going to pull it off this year — unveiling an off-season series of ECHL alumni pieces as well.  Depending on how well a few trips this year go, I should be able to break out a “Remember The Titans” alumni series, where I talk to a few Titans who went on to play in the NHL.  I should be in Hartford on Saturday to speak with Steve Valiquette, and will be in Nashville in early March to speak with Jerred Smithson.

Mike can we please get a Scott Bartoli feature?

Or perhaps longtime chiarams-favorite Jeff Schmidt.

  3. notimportant Says:

    neither, they both suck

  4. chiarams Says:

How dare anyone question the greatness of Jeff Schmidt. How his number hasn’t been retired is beyond me.

What about a feature on Peirre-Luc Letourneau LeBlond? (try saying THAT 3 times, fast)

  7. Shtikl Says:

Si on parle français, son nom n’est pas difficile de dire. I remember when Blondie was playing for the River Rats in 05-06, his sweater said Letourneau. They didn’t have room for both names, so they put the longer one on the sweater and it barely fit. No wonder they shortened it to LeBlond 😀

Not sure but I think he might be hard to reach now that he’s in the NHL. Still, it would be nice to have a story about him in early March, before his bobblehead comes out.

I did a Leblond feature last season…not real sure if it would be worth doing another one, as I’m not sure how much has really changed since he and I last spoke.

  9. Shtikl Says:

Well for one thing, he’s been watching a lot of NHL games…

OT and sorry for the double post: have a look at this article written by the Lowell Devils’ Mike McKenna for InGoalMag about the difference between NHL, AHL, and ECHL from a goalie’s perspective.

    Love his short answer. 😛
