Devils Add Brick Native Lee

The Trenton Devils have signed free agent forward Carter Lee to a contract.  No word on if he’ll magically get injured before tonight’s game against Johnstown, or if he’ll actually play.

Lee, a 25-year-old native of Brick, New Jersey, was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in 2003, and played collegiately at Northeastern and Lake Superior State.  In 48 college games, he scored five goals and added five assists.

He debuted professionally with the Johnstown Chiefs, playing in Trenton against the T-Devils and wearing Moises Gutierrez’s old jersey…Gutierrez’s name was still visible on Lee’s jersey.  Lee went 0-1-1 in four games with the Chiefs before being released, and he’s since been picked up by Trenton.

Can’t say I see why they’re signing a guy who played for the only team worse than they are in the division, but considering he’s a local guy, maybe there’s a hope he can sell a ticket or two.  Maybe…and I’m sure I’m giving the organization way too much credit here, but maybe they brought him in to get a better understanding of Johnstown’s system since he was just playing under it.

Maybe he’ll grant you an interview someday. 😛

Of all the luck when we’re desperately grasping at straws the phone lines in Hazelt are down again. All is well no need to panic. Lee must be the guy that Killer’s bringing in to payback Fitzpatrick for the cheap sh*t he pulled in the last few seconds of the last game when he took a run at Poli. Rick basically called the team out for being sackless for not going after him when he thought someone should have stepped up. Obviously he wouldn’t want to go into the game tonight without somebody to send a message right?? Don’t be silly sure he would, maybe the safest bet of all.
