Trevor Kell’s Big Hit

Brett Piscopo, birthday boy and Trenton Devils production room guru, has been kind enough to pass along a clip of Trevor Kell’s hit on Reading’s Rob Lalonde, which sent Lalonde flying through the glass and into the first row.

It was just as cool as I thought it would be…so, of course, I missed it.

It’s a good thing nobody actually goes to these games…somebody sitting in the front row might have been hurt…

WOW that’s all you can do is hit people into glass and break it. you cant score goals or play good as i see you guys sucked over the weekendby losing all games to Reading. at least the NJ Devils are good and better than u and i must say Lowell is better than you. how the hell cant u beat the Royals. i dont wish u the best of luck because u guys suck and are in last place. oh yeah: Trevor Kell isnt a very good player and Coleman doesnt play like he a 6 point 5 goalie

Mike, just looking at the replay, hard to be sure from that angle, but was it Kell’s hit that pushed the guy into the glass, or did he just jump? There’s too much airspace between Kell’s torso and the other player, it doesn’t look like a huge hit. You going to ask Kellsy what he was thinking?

Sure looked like the guy jumped, I say we send him the bill. Or better yet send the bill to the moron who posted the first comment.

We were at the game and saw it. Yes, LaLonde jumped. Kell gave him a hand to help him back out.

wow. point taken about Readings educational system. Nice to see Bob that you have learned how to post under 2 names. Its not even half way through the season but we might as well cancel the rest of the year. By the way Bob why dont you take some time and look at your championship banners, it wont take long. Remember bob baa means no.

Looking at it again (and again), I really wish it had sound. We’re in that section, and it was quite the event. Later in the game a guy and his young kid sat in Lalonde’s seat which I thought was pretty funny. Not sure who was more surprised, Lalonde, Kell, or the folks showered in plexi pieces. There were Reading fans at the other end of our row and it was the one time everyone had the same reaction. Glad Lalonde landed in the seat instead of on the unforgiving armrest…..

I think he jumped too— but for the reason that the glass has more “give” than the boards…. it’s a decent way to soften a blow that you know is coming but cannot avoid.
