A Few Updates…

— Seems Jim Henkel will not be back with the club this year.  For any fans left over from the Titans days, surely that’s some sad news, as Henkel was the last on-ice tie to the glory days of the franchise.  But both Rick Kowalsky and Vince Williams, who played for the Titans, will remain behind the bench.

— The club has signed goaltender Nicolas Lareau to an Amateur Tryout Agreement.  Until things sort themselves out at Lowell, if they ever do, it seems he’ll be the backup to Dave Caruso when the season kicks off at Sovereign Bank Arena on Saturday night.  I really can’t find out too much info about him…seems he was in camp with Bakersfield earlier this pre-season.

— Trenton filled their three IR slots today, placing D Chris Murray, F Jon Howse and F Chris Poli on the three, seven and 21 day-IR, respectively.

I linked to the HockeyDB profiles of Murray and Howse, but Poli’s is a name you know.  He lasted just eight games last year before getting injured, but he showed a nose for the net by tallying five goals and an assist and figures to be one of the club’s better offensive forwards once healthy.

— Looks like Stockton has released former T-Devil forward Tyler Burton.  I liked Burton a lot last year, thought he was a pretty solid offensive player who showed a little grit…hopefully he ends up playing somewhere.

— Mark your calendars, as Thomas Harrison makes his glorious return to Sovereign Bank Arena with the Wheeling Nailers on Wednesday, October 28th.  I never had a problem with the guy off the ice, but on it…he was painful to watch sometimes.

Also coming with the Nailers is former Lowell Devils and UND Fighting Sioux goalie Jordan Parise. Ask him about Red.Seal.Peach and “Fabian”.

That’s right, I forgot about Parise. Last I remember from him was reading an article about butterfly goalies and malformed hips causing injury…..
