Around The Division

With the Trenton Devils still waiting to receive players from Lowell’s camp, there isn’t anything going on at the homefront.

But other teams in the division are making moves.

The Star-Gazette reports that the Elmira Jackals have added forward Tyler Donati and defenseman Travis Gawryletz to the roster.

Donati primarily played for the AHL’s Binghamton Senators last season, while Gawryletz is a former Flyers draft pick who comes to the club after four years at The University of Minnesota-Duluth.

Meanwhile, the Dayton Bombers have announced that they’ve received forward Ryan Smyth (no, not Captain Canada) and defenseman Dominic D’Amour from AHL Rochester’s camp.

D’Amour was a third round selection of the Toronto Maple Leafs back in 2002, while Smyth enters his second season with the Bombers after posting 23 points in 2007-08.

In addition, the club announced the signing of defenseman Jamie Dowhayko.

Dowhayko played collegiate hockey at The University of Manitoba, and played professionally last year in Germany.

And The Reading Eagle has this story on some of the hopefuls trying to make the Reading Royals roster, a story that includes an update on Royals tough guy Rob LaLonde.
