Goaltender Gerald Coleman, who spent most of the last two seasons with the Trenton Devils, has signed with the St. Louis Blues and is ticketed for the Alaska Aces.
Coleman, 25, posted a 38-17-9 mark over the last two years in Trenton. His acquisition early in the 2008-09 season played a huge role in the T-Devils turning their year around and making the postseason. But the former NHL netminder struggled at times last season, posting a 3.61 GAA and .887 save percentage in an injury-shortened campaign.
The Blues recently assigned Coleman to AHL Peoria from NHL camp, but he’s going to be behind Ben Bishop and Jake Allen on the depth chart. That has him slated for the Blues ECHL affiliate in Alaska, who are scheduled to come to town for their very first regular season meeting against Trenton on Saturday, November 27 at 7:00 PM at Sun National Bank Center.
Of course, the then-Trenton Titans defeated Alaska, four games to three, in the Conference Finals in 2005 on their way to the organization’s only Kelly Cup title.

Good kid. When we play him, make him move side to side and shot glove side as well. I have to say, Coleman is a very bad shootout/breakaway goalie. Wish him luck.
