Another good game through two, imagine if they’d done this in October forward…

Yep a real shame. Toledo’s killing the Wings.
March 28, 2010 at 5:48 pm
Total buzzkill. Ah well, enjoy what we got left.

So for Trenton to make the playoffs, the following must occur:
Trenton must win both of its games, and its win against Reading must be in regulation.
And two of the three scenarios must occur:
-Toledo must lose all three of its remaining games in regulation. (@JHN, @KMZ, @KMZ)
-Reading must lose all three of its remaining games in regulation. (@ELM, WHL, TRE)
-Gwinnett must lose at least one of its remaining four games.
(CHR, @SC, @SC, @SC)
Trenton cannot get the tiebreaker against Toledo or Reading, but potentially could own a tiebreaker against Gwinnett.

Not happening.
Thoroughly enjoyed the last bunch of home games for the most part – ok the Johnstown one wasn’t all that great or even good. It’s too bad they struggled so badly on the southern trip. I think they may have made some noise in the playoffs but the hole they dug was just too big this time. Having to rely on crap teams stepping up and helping you out rarely if ever works. Reading has really stepped up and Toledo looks like it pulled itself together just in time.

Probably not out of the question that there are fines and a suspension to go along with this one. Would be par for the course for those of us looking for Kevin to slap around a few more Jackals on Friday as a consolation gift for missing the playoffs.

ECHL Rulebook http://www.echl.com/upload_images/ECHLRuleBook.pdf gets pretty specific in Rule 47.8 and 47.19:
47.8 Fighting Other Than During the Periods of the Game -
Any teams whose players become involved in an altercation, other than during the periods of the game, shall be fined pursuant to 47.19, in addition to any other appropriate penalties that may be imposed upon the participating players by supplementary discipline or otherwise.
Players involved in fighting other than during the periods of the game shall be assessed a major penalty and a game misconduct. Should one player be deemed the instigator of the fight, the game misconduct shall not be assessed to his opponent.
Any player who would be deemed to be an instigator pursuant to this rule at a time other than during the periods of the game shall be suspended pursuant to 47.19.
—
47.19 Fines and Suspensions – Fighting Other Than During the Periods
of the Game -
Any teams whose players become involved in an altercation, other than during the periods of the game (see 47.9), shall be fined automatically twenty-five hundred dollars ($2,500) in addition to any other appropriate penalties that may be imposed upon the participating players by supplementary discipline or otherwise.
Any player who would be deemed to be an instigator pursuant to this rule at a time other than during the periods of the game shall be
suspended automatically for five (5) games. Such determination may be made by the Referee at the time of the incident or subsequently by the Commissioner or his designee based upon such reports and other
information as he deems sufficient, including but not limited to television tapes.

Corms or not, if the mid-week news is bad, why not go for an unprofessional bench-clearing brawl like the recent game between the “SPHL” FireAntz and Ice Bears?
http://tinyurl.com/yzbjbbx
Or maybe, just once, Killer could go ape like the Abbotsford Heat’s Jim Playfair did, to protest a referee’s call?
http://tinyurl.com/pl-yf-ir
Would that be a suitable consolation present?

I can’t see a suspension since there weren’t any punches thrown.
Maybe a cheap-o fine though.
March 29, 2010 at 3:32 pm
gloved punch popped Turners helmet off perfectly.
Hope you’re right.

Thought it was verboten to cross the redline; though then again they have to to get to the locker room, which is stupid to begin with….

OK, the ECHL has not announced any fines or suspensions, right? Probably the teams were fined and that’s the end of it?

Thanks! Needed that. So Corms wasn’t suspended.
The jackoffs are going to be loaded for bear Friday night, eh?

At 49-50 seconds, you can hear the ref and linesman (one with a cup of coffee in hand, Neil Smith style) yelling at the players to knock it off. One of linesmen said he should go out there and the ref replied: “What I’m I supposed to do, walk out there?” I was down in the tunnel right by the entrance to the ice, it was great. The security guards were calling for more police officers, Jim L. was down there going crazy.. good stuff.
