Winger Scott Bartlett and just-signed defenseman Luke Lucyk have been placed on the 3-Day and 7-Day IR, respectively.
Bartlett, in his second season as a T-Devil, has scored three goals in his first 14 games this season. Last year, he scored just four goals in 45 games.
Lucyk…well, what’s the point of even having IR if a player doesn’t have to be hurt to be placed on it? While the Devils certainly aren’t the worst of the abusers of IR — I’m looking at you and your goalies, Kalamazoo — it still seems a bit ridiculous for players who were just signed to be stored away on IR while they’re completely healthy.
