** The Trenton Devils are now a part of the newly formed East Division in the American Conference. They’ll be joined by the Elmira Jackals, Johnstown Chiefs and Reading Royals.
** The ECHL released their schedule recently as well. The Devils will open at home on October 17th, hosting Kalamazoo.
Here’s the Trenton Devils 2009-10 schedule. South Carolina comes in again this season, as does Florida and Toledo. They go to Gwinnett and Charlotte, but neither team comes up here.
** According to the ECHL website, the Trenton Devils have made qualifying offers to the following eight players: Jeremy Akeson, Scott Bartlett, Justin Coutu, Charlie Effinger, Dan Eves, Thomas Harrison, David Leaderer and Dylan Quaile.
See a complete list of players who were made qualifying offers here.
** Looks like Kevin Cormier will be back with the Devils organization as well, at least according to this article.
** I don’t want to go all Brett Favre on everyone, but at this point, I’m leaning towards returning for the 2009-10 season. At least in some form, anyway. Probably will need to have some discussions with team officials before anything happens one way or the other — and will also need to see what my future plans are as well — but I would like to come back.
I’d also like to not have to do this for free, so that plays a role too…

Hopefully for the Devils sake they have Jeff Prough signed to either Lowell or Trenton. It would be a mistake to let him walk unless the allure of European hockey and the money there already nabbed him.

Thanks, Mike! Good to have somebody paying attention!

K Cormier a 2 year contract? I don’t get it.
I’m surprised Harrison got qualified- figured he was done after the scary way his season ended. why mess around with concussions at this level?
Any word on Coleman?

Took in the Devils Rookie Scrimmage this past Saturday. Kevin Cormier took a regular shift and scored on a rebound for the white team. Not much in the physical department. Castonguay scored for the black team, had a regular shift and even was out on the ice at the end as they held on to a 4-3 lead. I would say neither stood out one way or another. PL3 was clearly one of the leaders for the black team- and made his presence felt along the boards.

Per the Royals PR, the T-Devils will play a pre-season game in Reading, October 11 at 4:05 PM. $5 tickets go on sale September 15.
Any chance of a pre-season tilt at the SBC?
