Tom Gulitti has this blog post about T-Devils alum Pierre-Luc Letorneau-Leblond, who’s been making a name for himself ever since the start of training camp.
The 23-year-old, who played in 52 games for Trenton in 2006-07 and six last season before a call-up to Lowell, handled himself pretty well in a fight against NHL heavyweight Donald Brashear and impressed some teammates in the process.
“I thought he did a great job,” backup goalie Kevin Weekes told Gulitti.
“He’s a big guy and he gives up 25-30 pounds to Brash. Brash has been a top five guy in the league for how many years? So, the fact that he even chose to fight him says a lot about the kid.”
While it’s unlikely that Letorneau-Leblond will make the Devils out of camp, with longtime Devils enforcer and fan favorite Cam Janssen long gone and David Clarkson needed for his offense, he could become an option down the road if the big club needs to add some toughness.
